Yay, the Xole pattern is done. Finished it this morning and am very pleased with myself. Looks very spiffy even in calico with the edges unfinished. It's quite comfortable, with a 10cm reduction at the waist and no unsightly lumpy bits spilling out the lower edge thanks to some creative pattern drafting. It has a very nice, somewhat sever shape at the moment. I think once the bones are all in it will be less angular - the mockup only had bones at the laces.
So I started on the Penny after lunch and have just stopped given that I stitched a panel in backwards and on closer inspection realised I screwed up when grading and subsequently adding seam allowances. I'm currently making it exactly per the drawing in the book, it's going ok, but I'm making mistakes because I've been working on it for the last 4 hours. It's actually easier than I thought it would be. The Edwardian straight front styles look terribly complicated because of the many thin curvy panels that go into them.
Hungry now. Hmm, no one else at home to cook for, think I'll go the good old Asian Noodle House and go over to Chez Kitty to see what the Mythbusters team is blowing up tonight.
